Makeover for Golden Guide, Fourth edition out now
The ever popular Golden Guide has been published again in Northumberland. This handy, local guide has proved so useful for over 50s, that there is a waiting list of residents queuing up to receive their FREE copy –completely revised and showing off a spanking new design for the New Year.
Produced by community information specialists Clever Clogs Publishing in partnership with Age Concern Northumberland, Northumberland County Council and Northumberland Care Trust, the brand new Golden Guide may look different, but as always, it’s packed with facts and tips on money, health and care, lots of leisure and transport information and all with local contacts.
Now in its fourth year, five thousand new-look copies are ready to go out. Editor Heather Alabaster says “We’re over the moon with the Golden Guide this year – there was so much fresh information, it seemed the right thing to give it a spring-clean, and we’ve been delighted to gain the help of a talented young designer to update it in a fresh, contemporary style”
Clare Owen-Smith of Age Concern Northumberland says “It’s so important that older people can get the advice they need, wherever they live – the Golden Guide is so well known we can rely on it to get the message out. And we love the upbeat positive image it gives of older people – it inspires confidence!”
Daljit Lally, Executive Director of Adult Care at Northumberland Care Trust adds “In the new guide, there’s a wealth of useful contacts for services across the county. This time there is information about our new “personal budget” arrangements, which give people more control over the support they need. And we’re also encouraging older people to check if they’re entitled to disability benefits – many are but they don’t always claim.”
